The next Advanced Scene Study (for screen) starts in May 2018

Devise, write and film your own scene

Fed up of feeling that there’s no part for you out there? Thought some of your best acting happened in a Meisner class? Want to act dialogue that suits you? Need a scene that could turn heads in your showreel?

Guided by Dominic Kelly, actors will devise their scenes, write and edit their own scenes, rehearse them, and have them captured by a professional filmmaker. Using Meisner improvisation and relationship exercises, actors will develop an idea for a 2 minute scene. With guidance they will write the dialogue. Sessions will cover simple screen acting techniques. Finally they will rehearse the piece and it will be filmed on location. Actors will receive their footage afterwards for their own personal use, and reflection.

Dates and prerequisites:

Only actors who have successfully completed Meisner Stage 3, No Filter Acting or Stage 2 graduates with suitable or equivalent experience may apply.

The course will run over 6 sessions starting Wednesday 6 June, 10:00 – 13:30 at the Cockpit Theatre. There will be 5 Wendesday morning sessions at the Cockpit Theatre, one Tuesday evening session on 3 July at Theatre Deli and filming days in July, dates TBC.
