NO FILTER ACTING
Audition Registration for No Filter Acting 2019 is now open
Get the best from the salon:collective’s experienced team of tutors in one fully comprehensive system.
The salon:collective has been training actors since 2011. This full curriculum of our popular training has been designed to fulfil the actor’s full acting potential. Imagine body, mind, and soul all working moment to moment, impulsive and creative, emotionally free, vocally expressive and physically dynamic.
No Filter is now in its third year, and the first comprehensive acting course of its kind in the UK. Not only does it have our extremely popular Meisner Technique system of training at its core, this course integrates Meisner, Movement, Voice, Classical Text work and speciality skills such as Screen Acting and Audition Technique into a course tailored to the needs of the industry.
This part-time weekday course will take you through the entire Meisner system including modern text work plus Shakespearean and classical text, while integrating movement and physicality with professional movement director and stage combat coach, Lawrence Carmichael, voice work with Ingrid Gray and invited workshop practitioners, who will expose you to a range of new experiences and skills to enhance your actor’s tookit.
Industry professionals such as casting directors and agents will guide you through the realities of the business, and show you how to bring your best to the table.
There will be performance opportunities throughout the course, and also a showing of work at the end of the course to an audience of invited agents and casting directors.
Our experienced tutors have worked with a wide range of successful actors whose credits include work for leading theatre companies and institutions such as Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre, The Royal Court, Young Vic, Regent’s Open Air Theatre, Theatre Royal Stratford East, numerous West End theatres, and have appeared in TV programmes such as Game of Thrones, Nikita, Beverley Hills 90210, Marco Polo, Downton Abbey, Luther, Waking the Dead, Casualty, Doctors, Holby City, EastEnders, The Inbetweeners, Jonathan Creek, and feature films which include Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Prometheus, Mr Holmes, Lilting and RocknRolla.
Who is No Filter aimed at?
This training is aimed at actors with training and/or experience under their belts already, who want to take their work to the next level and increase their employability. You will receive a system of training where every aspect agrees with and enhances the other, and most importantly, the emphasis is on applying all learning to actually doing the job – we aim to make you industry-ready.
How to apply?
Applications are via audition workshops where you will work with the No Filter tutors. This is an audition for us as well – if our way of working isn’t for you, this is how to find out. The audition workshops will be followed up by informal meetings with the tutors.
How to prepare for the audition workshop?
Please prepare a monologue of your choice (something you love), bring movement clothes, a bottle of water and a spirit of play. You may also wish to observe one of our drop-in classes before you audition to get a feel for how we work (link above).
